SHELTER ISLAND 10K/5K

Touted as one of the most scenic runs by Runner's World Magazine, the USA Track and Field Certified Course is challenging with rolling hills, water views, and competitive runners. The event hosts celebrity runners such as Meb Keflezighi, Joan Benoit Samuelson & Bill Rogers who help pace you to your personal best!

THE RACE USA TRACK & FIELD CERTIFIED COURSE STARTING INSTRUCTIONS
The race will start promptly at 5:30pm, Saturday, June 15th, 2019, rain or shine. Staging area is located on the school grounds. School Street is a detour for through traffic, please cross with caution and do not delay car traffic. Do not gather on Route 114 near starting area until called by the Official Starter. When called, enter the section which indicates your anticipated average pace per mile.

START & FINISH AREAS
Both the 10K Run and the 5K Walk begin going south on Route 114 from the round about at School Street. Turn left on St. Mary's Road to the next round about. The 10K and 5K go right at the roundabout (5k goes left at Williette Road, left at Manhansett Road, then right onto Manwaring Road to Route 114 then north to West Neck Road where the 5k merges with the 10k course to the finish) onto Ram Island Road to Cobbetts Lane, then right on Manhansett Road until Manhansett becomes Shore Road (keep right of the Dering Harbor Village Hall on Shore Road until Shore becomes Winthrop Road). Follow Winthrop across bridge to Route 114. Go left on 114 to West Neck Road. Make right onto West Neck and a quick left onto Midway Road. Follow Midway to Bateman Road, go left on Bateman for 200 meters and exit right onto school athletic field to finish area. SEE MAP

5:50 p.m. – Start of 5K Run/Walk Race, front of the school

7:15 p.m. – AWARDS CEREMONY

7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. - Annual RUNNERS' FESTIVAL

11:00 p.m. – LAST FREE SHUTTLE BUS

12:45 a.m. – LAST BOAT - NORTH FERRY

1:45 a.m. – LAST BOAT - SOUTH FERRY

POST RACE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE: STARTS AT 6:30PM AND RUNS CONTINUOUSLY UNTIL 11PM.

Shuttles run making stops at both ferries, the post-race party which is walking distance to finish line, and the finish field.
