COURSES:
5K (3.107miles) Run Course / 8:30AM START
- Through the scenic trails of Sunken Meadow State Park located on the Long Island Sound including “Cardiac Hill”
- Water station at ½ point
3K (1.8 miles) Walk Course / 8:45AM START
- Length of Boardwalk twice to Finish Line - GORGEOUS VIEWS OF THE SOUND
- Refreshments at end of walk
FREE Kids' Fun Run 8:00AM START
5K & 3K FEES:
- $15 Youth (14 & under) thru Nov. 3 ($30 day of)
- $25 Adult thru Nov. 3 ($30 day of)

Day of Race: Sunken Meadow State Park Nov.4: begins 7AM at PARKING FIELD 3 - end of Sunken Meadow Pkwy, make a right to the last parking lot on the left.
ABOUT US:
Strength for Life was founded in memory of a friend and mentor, Evelyn Knapp, who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2005 at the young age of 40. As an exercise physiologist, she was passionate in promoting exercise and proper nutrition to her clients, family and friends. Evelyn's motivation and dedication helped countless individuals engage in a healthier lifestyle and achieve optimal wellness. After being diagnosed with breast cancer, she continued exercising throughout treatment. She would say it gave her a feeling of control in an uncontrollable situation. From there she made a new commitment to promote exercise for cancer patients so they, too, would experience the benefits. Evelyn lost her battle 18 months into her fight, however her mission was not lost.
Strength for Life was formed in her memory so we may continue her work and make her vision a reality. Since 2007 SFL has offered FREE Exercise Classes to cancer patients and survivors. Over the past 10 years SFL has added Wellness Retreats, Nutrition Classes, Walking Classes, and a Empowerment Group for cancer patients and survivors all FREE OF CHARGE.
