About the event:
Join us Saturday November 26th 2016 for the 1st Annual Maria Regina 5K Michael J. Califano Race for the Future. This year we are raising money to support the construction for a new playground at our school named after Michael J. Califano. Michael was a former alumnus of and parent at Maria Regina School who was killed in the line of duty, working to protect and serve as a Nassau County Police Officer, on February 5, 2011. We are looking to secure a prosperous future for the whole Maria Regina community. Creating this space will create a positive impact for our young children.
This 5K race will start and finish on school property while the race course will be through the neighborhood. The course is certified by USA Track and Field so bring all your favorite running friends. If you are not up to running please still participate by walking the course. It is a great way to start working off that Thanksgiving turkey!
All 5K Participants will receive a free finish line photo.
Kids Fun Run will be held prior to the start of the 5K and will be facilitated by Ultimate Performance + Fitness. The kids will participate in Relay Style Races. All paying participants in the Fun Run will receive a completion medal. All kids who are registered by 11/11/16 will receive a Race Day T-Shirt provided by Shirt Kings.
Following the Fun Run kids sweet treats will be available to purchase. Please bring your whole family to support this wonderful cause. You can even register online and invite your family and friends through e-mail and social media!
