About this Event
BENEFITS THE BAYSIDE HISTORICAL SOCIETY: to support the educational programs, events, lectures and workshops reaching children and adults in all of Queens and Nassau. Participating in the Totten Trot is a great way to support this NYC Landmark Officer’s Club known as the “Castle”and its programs.
REMEMBERING: Billy Barnes, a Baysider and electrician who tragically died while working on the Throgs Neck Bridge in 2009

FREE KIDS FUN RUN: 10AM (COSTUMES SUGGESTED) Short distance sprint for tiny tots and kids up to 12 years, grouped by age category. Special “COOKIE MEDALS” for all participants

USATF Certified Course:
Waterfront course in Historic Fort Totten Park on Little Neck Bay in Bayside, a pristine stretch surrounding a preserved Civil War fortress. Runners will pass through the Historic District which consists of buildings dating to the late 1800’s. The Fort is situated where the Long Island Sound meets the East River at the Throgs Neck Bridge. The start and the finish are located at the Landmark Officers’ Club home of the Bayside Historical Society. The course includes a loop out onto the Little Bay Path to the Throgs Neck Bridge and back to the fort.

Enjoy Fall Breakfast Fare and Healthy Treats while entertained with live MUSIC!! Some Surprise visitors—MINNIE MOUSE has been seen dancing around the ballroom and the occasional “SPIRIT” of the fort may be lurking in the area!!

FROM LONG ISLAND: LIE or Northern State Pkwy to Cross Island Pkwy, North. Exit #32 at Bell Blvd. Turn right at the light and the parking lot is on the left
FROM NEW YORK CITY AND WESTERN QUEENS: Queens Midtown Tunnel to LIE East to Clearview Expy. North/Throgs Neck Bridge. Willets Point exit– right fork to first left at 212th St., follow straight to parking lot on the left.
FROM THROGS NECK BRIDGE: Clearview Expwy to Exit 6B (26th Ave.) Left turn back onto Clearview Expwy. North (Follow directions above)
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: #7 Train to Main Street Flushing . Q13 bus to Fort Totten. Proceed through gate.
