SYJCC is proud to be hosting the 9th Annual Shana Kay Memorial 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, October 6th.  Shana attended SYJCC’s early childhood center and summer camps as a child and carried on her passion for community pride in the Commack school district through her high school graduation.  After Shana’s passing, her parents have carried on her legacy by building reading gardens at local libraries, donating score boards in the local schools and creating scholarships at the High School and JCC in her name.  This past June, with the funds raised by past runs and the Shana Kay Foundation, SYJCC was able to add a traverse rock wall at the facility.  Future proceeds from the race will go to expanding the rock wall, and continue to fund the early childhood scholarship fund established in her name at the JCC. 

We thank you in advance for your participation in this wonderful community event to help celebrate the life of a beautiful girl named Shana Kay.
