Event Details:
The “QDR Legend Event” series is meant to commemorate members of the Queens Distance Runners that, for their unique background and commitment to QDR, has aided our organization greatly.
Peter Tran joined the Queens Distance Runners with the hopes of becoming a better runner. In the year 2014, when the Queens Distance Runners was known for having mostly local elite level athletes, Peter was not discouraged as a recreational level runner. Race in and race out, Peter would run his heart out in the hopes of “not slowing down his teammates”. In group runs, Peter would showcase the heart that comes with a determined individual, and it inspired every single member of the Queens Distance Runners. In the time since, Peter has become one of the most beloved members of the Queens Distance Runners and a cult legend for any runner that decides to train fearlessly to race with the heart of an elite runner, later in life.
5 Mile Run:
The course is a two loop out and back that completely encompasses the Unisphere side of Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Age Groups:
19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+
